Moment of Silence: Nelson Mandela

Flags were lowered to half-staff, a dozen doves were released into the sky, and crowds of South Africans gathered at make shift shrines on Friday, December 6th, 2013 to mourn the loss of their former president, Nelson Mandela, the man many considered the father of that nation.

Tributes continued to pour in from world leaders and ordinary citizens for the former Nobel Peace Prize winner and anti-apartheid leader, who died Thursday December 5, 2013 at the age of 95. President Jacob Zuma, said Mandela, known affectionately by his clan name "Madiba" had died "peacefully" at around 8:50 p.m. while in the company of his family. He spent almost three months in a Pretoria hospital after being admitted in June with a recurring lung infection from which he never recovered. Mandela was then discharged in September and received home-based medical attention.

Hours after his death Thursday night, a black SUV-type vehicle containing Mandela's coffin, draped in South Africa's flag, pulled away from Mandela's home after midnight, escorted by military motorcycle outriders, to take the body to a military morgue in Pretoria, the capital.

Outside the Soweto home where Mandela once lived, and the Johannesburg home where he died, residents danced and sang tribal songs, the African national anthem, and Christian hymns. Others left flowers, candles, and signs in makeshift shrines. South African citizens in black townships, rural grasslands, and upscale mostly white suburbs commemorated Mandela with tears and prayers Friday, while pledging to adhere to the values of unity and democracy that he embodied.  RIP Nelson Mandela 1918-2013.

Comfort Kills

" Don't let life become MONOTONY, once this happens life itself loses meaning; how can we help others     when at the end we are the ones in need of motivation to striving for success."  ---Anonymous

Monotony:  1. wearisome routine; dullness 2. Lack of Variety in pitch or cadence

I am a firm believer that COMFORT KILLS!  I say this confidently! Why? When we get into our daily routine we become accustomed to everything we do, almost as if it was second nature.  Life becomes a cycle.  You constantly find yourself in the same position simply because you are not willing to try something NEW.  Life is about Improvement, whether its financially, health or with your family, we Humans must continue to grow! Leaders are Learners and we must fear what we don't know.  What you don't know might be the secret to your SUCCESS.  The sense of Accomplishment is Motivation for success & Improvement begins with Change. Never Limit Yourself. Life is What You Make It. The World Does Not Stop For You nor Anyone Else.

Should I Go To College?

How Should I Invest In my Future?
You ever wonder what position you would be in if you did not graduate from college? Or those of you who are currently enrolled where would you be if you were not "in school?"  Well I ask myself that question all the time.  Would I still be as PRODUCTIVE? or would I be flipping burgers at McDonald's like people say?
We do not know something unless we experience it.  What I am trying to say about this is that your EDUCATION is an INVESTMENT for your FUTURE.  My friend told me the other day school is scam...so I asked, then why did you come?  We live in a society in which we Advocate ENTREPRENEURSHIP, meaning the success will vary on the individual based on how DRIVEN, DEDICATED & MOTIVATED they are.  If he knew school was a scam from the beginning he would have never came.  We all come to school to Educate ourselves to eventually end up with a well-paying corporate job, but the real question is are we BUILDING while we are in college to get to that step?  A lot of us know to come to college but, a handful of individuals actually remember to DO College.  We here about all the Wealthy Millionaires who did not graduate but are financially free but all of these individuals started from the ground up and worked until they achieved their goal.  The video I posted below is a video I saw years ago in a Sociology class which really caught my attention.  It speaks about how we are all told to go to school and make sure we graduate in order to live a good life...BUT what Americans forget is to teach us about the Cost of attending college, Personal Finance, Network Marketing, Stocks and or other routes that we can take in order to become SUCCESSFUL individuals. Take a look for yourself! Hope you enjoy!

American Time Use

TIME IS SOMETHING YOU WILL NEVER GET BACK!  Therefore I preach to you all you must spend it wisely!  I will never forget the day my seventh grade teacher said to me "There are 24 hours in day! Never say you do not have time!" An average American let’s say sleeps for four about eight hours a day leaving an individual with 16 hours to get everything else done! No excuses! Those who can agree I have learned that while in college how CRUCIAL ONE MINUTE can actually be!  With that being said we all spend our time differently, when I say differently I mean we all have different hobbies & things that interest us.  I enjoy to read sit back relax, while some may enjoy to go for a run.  Both are these are PRODUCTIVE ways to spend your time. Good habits result in positive outcomes.  how do I USE my time?

Rich Dad Poor Dad

When I began to read this book I was hooked.  Why was I hooked?  It pointed out the obvious, the truth the reality of money and how cash flow works!  Rich Dad Poor Dad a book written by Robert Toru Kiyosaki ,advocates financial independence and building wealth through investing, real estate investing, starting and owning businesses, as well as increasing one's financial intelligence.   This book touches up on various points such as; the rich don’t work for money, Financial Literacy, minimizing taxes and work to learn don’t work for money etc.  All of these skills set contribute to the success of an individual’s life.  I have read this book three times and still read chapters here and there to this day.  But there are two things that have engraved in me after reading in which he said, “Skills make you rich, not theories” & “In school we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down.  If we never fell down, we would never walk.”  I constantly remind myself that in order to achieve a goal we must build are way up which is what I took away from those two quotes.  This leads to success.

Cosby Said It

In order to SUCCEED, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of FAILURE.
-Bill Cosby

What is one thing we all fear in life, the UNKNOWN. Why do we fear the unknown because we are afraid of Failure.  When we are afraid of failure we are afraid to Speak, Expand, Explore, Dream & Learn!  We Limit ourselves, and we eventually get into our own Comfort Zone. But COMFORT KILLS!  You get into the same everyday cycle & routine, because its what you know, you know what to expect.  You complain every single day but you still do not do something about it.  People don't like change...Why? Because they are afraid of Failure.  It is good to know what to expect in life, especially when you are comfortable. But as individuals we learn from our mistakes and experiences we go through in life therefore why should we fear?  There should be no excuses, nor should you ever doubt yourself!  Anything is possible. Never say you cant or feel as if you do not deserve it.  That is all Mental.  A Positive state of mind results in Positive outcomes in life!  Negativity is for the Weak and I know you are not! Right?

In In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

What Is Success?

What is Success I ask to you all?
I am almost Positive I will get similar answers such as..  Success is going to school, graduating, getting a good job and making a lot of money,....etc...  But is that REALLY what success is?  Is there more than one way to be successful? How Do I become successful?  Do I have to attend a four year college and graduate with straight A's?  Do I have to work on Wall Street or wear nice fancy suites and attend corporate meetings? If you believe success is simply making/having a lot of money, you may be setting yourself up for failure. I am often amazed at how many people define success as making or having a lot of money. Although I find this very interesting, because many of the people who are in this state of mind are generally agitated, stressed and overall pretty miserable.  Not all individuals come from the same backgrounds which means we do not all have the same opportunity .  This changes how someone can be successful. The way I see it, everyone's definition of success can be mapped on a simple grid. One side being the amount of money that you have and the other being the amount of happiness in your life.  Agree?
Success is knowledge & understanding.  Success is achieving a goal.  Success is starting from scratch.
You have to WANT it.
